The Great Lakes Historical Recovery club is an active group of hobbyists interested in metal detecting for long lost items, with the emphasis on proper recovery techniques and the appreciation for nature and the environment. We make ourselves available to assist the local public in finding lost items.

Our club members work with each other to help improve personal skills and knowledge of the hobby and the many other interests that are generated from the hobby of metal detecting, like coin collecting and grading, history research techniques and map reading and interpretation. We enjoy sharing the hobby with the many friends and friendships that are built within our club.

We currently have 27 registered members.  Most of our club members are located in Lake, Cook, and McHenry counties in Illinois.  Many of our club members support the FMDAC, and our club is referenced on the FMDAC  club webpage for Illinois.

We meet on the second Monday of every month at the Round Lake Community Center on the north side of Hart Road, 814 Hart Road, in Round Lake, Illinois.  Our meetings are from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M.  Our yearly membership dues are $20 plus $5 if you want the join the FMDAC.
